On January 21, the "Handover Ceremony of the Hai Duong 28 Dredger" took place in Quang Yen Town. The ceremony was attended by state management units, professional units, reputable businesses, and investors in the field of national waterway infrastructure projects.
The Hai Duong 28 dredger was constructed by the joint venture of Vu Hai Shipbuilding and Repair Services Co., Ltd., and Bach Dang Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. After six months of construction, the Hai Duong 28 dredger was completed and handed over to the investor, Hai Minh Long Construction and Trading Co., Ltd.
This cutter suction dredger has a capacity of 3,600 HP, a mixed pumping capacity of 7,000 m³/h, a maximum dredging depth of 18 meters, and a CSD650 pipe diameter. All dredged materials are pumped through a pipeline directly to the shore within a radius of up to 6 km. The Hai Duong 28 can dredge, maintain, and reclaim in complex terrains, weak soil foundations, and under severe weather conditions, meeting international standards.
Notably, as of now, the Hai Duong 28 is the largest capacity cutter suction dredger built in Vietnam, with quality comparable to products from advanced countries.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Hong Nhung, Director of Hai Minh Long Construction and Trading Co., Ltd., affirmed that the construction industry for waterway projects in Vietnam and worldwide is experiencing a strong and promising development phase, with a high demand for construction vessels to keep up with government and business investments in expanding and maintaining port infrastructure in Vietnam and neighboring countries.
